Scientists have discovered a way to make the penis exercise a reality.
In the study, researchers at the National Institutes of Health found that the electrical pulses generated by a penile stimulation device activated an enzyme called E-selectin.
The enzyme converts the signals from an electrode to the activity of a nerve cell, which in turn stimulates the penis.
The researchers were able to activate E-Selectin and activate the nerve cell to cause the penis to contract and grow.
“This work shows that an enzyme that’s been known to activate cell signaling pathways is also an activator of the same signaling pathways in neurons,” said Dr. Robert S. Pender, director of the Division of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at NIH and senior author of the study.
The work is published in the journal Science Translational Medicine.
